QR Codes And Tattoos

People are taking QR codes to the next level! QR code tattoos now seem to be making an appearance on people's bodies! How crazy is that? That is absolutely insane...don't you think?

Tattoos have been around for ages and ages. Tattoos are an awesome form of expression. It is an art. It is a passion. It has meaning....well for the most part...most tattoos having a meaning. In my opinion I think that all tattoos should have a meaning. Yes, it's a form of expression, almost like accessories...jewelery, hats, watches, rings...or even what you wear is a form of expression...BUT...with a form of expression, I think that just getting a tattoo just to get one because it looks “cool” is absolutely dumb. That's just my opinion.

I have 9 tattoos and all them have a story behind them. They are all interesting stories too.:-)

Alright, so sorry about that random rant, but back to QR codes and tattoos. A tattoo artist by the name of, Karl Marc, created the world's first animated tattoo. When I read the title of this article, I, myself, asked, “How in the world is it possible to create an animated tattoo?” Well, my friends...I'm sure you were thinking the same exact thing! It sounds nearly impossible right? Tattoos don't move...let alone, they aren't animated!

Well, this animated tattoo that we speak of, is a QR code that was tattooed onto Karl Marc's friend's chest, Marco. How was this all even thought up? Well, a whisky brand, Ballantine, came up to Karl Marc and asked him if he wanted to create a QR code that would link to an animation, through their brand's FaceBook page. This project that Ballantine is creating with the QR code is the “Leave An Impression” campaign. Supposedly, Ballantine, is doing even more similar projects as well with other types of artists...such as ice sculptors and graffiti artists.

What's even more crazy is that, as time goes on, Karl plans on changing the animation. I'm sure he will have something up his sleeve with the years to come!

What do you guys think? Like I said earlier, I think this is a great idea! It's definitely a unique tattoo. I actually don't know many people who have QR code tattoos. And, as I was researching, before I even googled anything about QR code tattoos...I thought, “Wouldn't it be cool to have a QR code tattoo?!” So as that awesome idea popped into my head, there actually weren't many photos of QR code tattoos under google images. But believe me, they are getting done!

And for those of you who are conservative, scared, or just don't want a tattoo...there are temporary tattoos available! ;-)
